The Tales Story One Bangjo: Sansiri’s First Pool Villa Collection in Phuket
The Tales Story One Bangjo is a private collection of 13 single storey pool villas set against the green hills of Bangjo, in greater Bang Tao on Phuket’s west coast. It is the first pool villa project Sansiri has built on the island in its 15 years here, and one of seven Phuket launches the developer scheduled for the second half of 2026.
The setting is the story. Bangjo is the quieter, greener side of greater Bang Tao, where the land rises towards the mountains and mornings start with birdsong. The beach is still only minutes away, and the international schools, cafés and weekend life of Cherngtalay are close by. For a family relocating to Phuket, The Tales Story One Bangjo offers space, privacy and an easy daily rhythm.
Bangjo, Between the Mountains and the Sea
Greater Bang Tao is the name locals give to the whole district around Bang Tao Beach. It takes in Cherngtalay, the Laguna Phuket resort area, Pasak and Bangjo. Bangjo sits on its inland edge.
Here the backdrop is the mountains. Forested hills frame the skyline, the air feels softer in the evening, and the pace is unhurried. It is a residential part of the island, where families live year round.
The sea is never far. Bang Tao Beach is about 5.5 kilometres from the project and Surin Beach about 6.7 kilometres, according to Sansiri. That is a short drive for a morning swim before school or a sunset walk after dinner. Families get the calm of the hills and the life of the coast in the same week.
Thirteen Homes, Each With Room to Breathe
The project sits on about 11,200 square metres of land. Thirteen villas share that space, so each plot runs from about 532 to 747 square metres. Every villa has parking for two cars.
There are three villa types, named as chapters. Chapter One offers about 329 square metres of house. Chapter Two offers about 353 square metres, and Chapter Three about 401 square metres. All three have three bedrooms and four bathrooms, with a living room, a pantry, a full kitchen and a pavilion beside a private pool.
Thirteen homes gives the collection the feel of a private lane. Children get to know the neighbours, and parents get to know each other. It is a small community inside a gated setting, which is often exactly what relocating families are looking for.
Design by the Edward Tuttle Team
The villas were designed by the team of Edward Tuttle. Tuttle is the American designer known for some of the most admired resort hotels in Asia, and his work shaped much of the visual language of luxury hospitality in the region. In Phuket his team also designed The Society, Sansiri’s social space in Cherngtalay.
Sansiri describes the concept as a modern Thai resort. The inspiration is waves on pale shores, translated into timeless regional Thai architecture with pitched roofs, warm timber and generous glass. Living spaces open fully onto the pool terrace, so the garden becomes part of the house.
Single storey living suits the climate and suits family life. Every room sits close to the garden and the water. There are no stairs for toddlers or visiting grandparents, and the whole home can be seen and heard from the kitchen.
Inside the Villas
The interiors are calm and natural. Timber ceilings, soft stone and neutral fabrics carry through from the living room to the bedrooms. Large openings frame views of the pool and garden from almost every room.
The main bedroom looks straight onto the water. The open kitchen and living space are designed for long family breakfasts and easy entertaining. The pavilion gives a shaded outdoor room for afternoons by the pool, and the bathrooms bring the garden inside through tall windows.
HeadStart International School, Close to Home
For most relocating families, the school decides the address. In Bangjo, the answer is close to home.
HeadStart International School’s Cherngtalay campus is about 1.5 kilometres from The Tales Story One, according to Sansiri. The campus opened in August 2023 on 24 rai of land and has grown quickly from a single class per year to three. It follows the British curriculum with Cambridge programmes and takes children from age 2 through to Year 9.
The facilities are a draw on their own. The campus has a 50 metre swimming pool, a children’s pool, a sports hall, dance studios, art and music rooms and a dining hall. Older students continue at HeadStart’s main campus in Chaofah. A school run of a few minutes changes daily life, and it frees up time for the things a family moved to Phuket to enjoy.
Families have other choices nearby too. Kajonkiet Cherngtalay School is about 1.5 kilometres away and HEI Schools Phuket about 4 kilometres away. UWC Thailand and British International School Phuket are each about 10 kilometres away.

Blue Tree Phuket, the Neighbourhood’s Weekend Place
Blue Tree Phuket is about 2 kilometres from the project and has become Bangjo’s weekend meeting point. It is an open air lifestyle village set among green lawns and forest, with something for every age.
Children have adventure play areas with trampolines, ziplines and climbing nets, and a separate play space for younger ones. Parents have padel courts, fitness and Muay Thai studios, yoga and forest trails for running and walking. There is a skate park, a supermarket, cafés, restaurants and boutiques. On weekends the lawns host markets and live music.
For a family new to the island, Blue Tree is often where friendships start. Children meet at the playground. Parents meet at the padel court or over coffee. Within a few weeks, the neighbourhood feels like home.
Beaches, Dining and the Wider West Coast
Porto de Phuket and Boat Avenue are around 3 kilometres away. They are the two open air dining and retail districts that anchor social life in Cherngtalay. Boat Avenue opened in 2012 as Thailand’s first container mall and still hosts a Friday evening market with street food, live music and local makers. Robinson Lifestyle Thalang adds everyday shopping at about 5.6 kilometres.
Laguna Phuket is a short drive away. It began in 1984 on the site of a former tin mine and grew into one of Asia’s best known integrated resorts, with hotels, golf, lagoons and a long stretch of Bang Tao Beach. Its annual triathlon, first held in 1994, is the longest running in Asia.
Thai food is part of daily life here. Families soon find their favourite roadside kitchen for lunch, their Friday market stall, and the beach bar where they watch the sun go down.

World Class Healthcare and Wellness
Buyers at The Tales Story One receive preventive health privileges through Sansiri’s 2026 partnership with VitalLife Scientific Wellness Center, part of Bumrungrad International Hospital, one of the best known private hospital groups in Asia. The programme includes biological age analysis and consultations with longevity specialists.
Bangkok Hospital Phuket and Bumrungrad International Hospital Phuket are each about 16 kilometres away, according to Sansiri. Both give residents access to world class private healthcare on the island.
Security and Owner Services
The Tales Story One Bangjo uses LIV-24, Sansiri’s round the clock security system linked to building management. A digital fence sends an alert if anyone crosses the boundary, and a visitor management system controls access at the gate. There is a community garden and a children’s playground inside the project.
After handover, villa management and owner services run through Plus Property, Sansiri’s property services arm. For families who travel back to Europe or Asia over the summer, knowing the house is looked after makes a real difference.
Making the Move
Many families now relocate on Thailand’s Long Term Resident visa. It runs for ten years and allows a spouse and children under 20 to be included. The Wealthy Global Citizen route asks for USD 1 million in global assets, or a lower asset level combined with USD 500,000 invested in Thailand. Rules change, so check the current terms with Thailand’s Board of Investment before applying.
Phuket International Airport is around 30 minutes from Bangjo by car. It handled an average of 290 flights a day to 71 cities in 36 countries in 2026, according to Sansiri, so trips home and visits from family stay simple.
Who The Tales Story One Suits
The Tales Story One Bangjo suits international families who want a permanent or long stay home with privacy, space and a garden. It suits parents who want the school run measured in minutes and weekends spent outdoors. It also suits couples who host children and grandchildren through the year and want room for everyone.
It is the first of two Tales projects. The second, The Tales Story Two Pasak, follows in greater Bang Tao. For the full picture of the developer’s plans, read our guide to Sansiri in Phuket.
