Thailand Infrastructure: A Clear Plan Forward

Thailand’s 2025–2026 infrastructure development plan includes 287 projects with a combined budget of more than ฿253 billion. These projects span land, road, and air networks, all part of the government’s broader vision to transform Thailand into a regional transport hub and stimulate economic recovery. It covers 223 projects in 2025 (฿136.5 billion) and 64 projects in 2026 (฿117 billion).

The Ministry of Transport is also allocating ฿48.75 billion across six agencies to accelerate infrastructure development, boost jobs, and support tourism. In parallel, high-profile plans include constructing the Chalong Rat Expressway extension and Bangkok’s Outer Ring Road (M9), plus congestion solutions for Phuket and Chiang Mai.

Meanwhile, the pace of execution is picking up. The Transport Minister has urged officials to expedite budget release and project rollouts to meet urgent targets.
