Delicious smoothie bowls that are ‘grammable’ and bursting with award-winning goodness

It all started with some healthy pillow talk.  Founders Phil and Jess, both Londoners were one evening, discussing breakfast smoothie bowls.  Great smoothies bowls.  Cut that, the-best-in-the-world-smoothie bowls.  Their quest to create the ultimate breakfast bowl quickly became a reality.  Leaping out of bed the following morning, they went on a hunt to find the most healthy, delicious, and nutritious ingredients to whizz up.  Both Phil and Jess have backgrounds in the health and fitness industry and wanted to be able to merge nutritional goodness with divine taste.  NanaBowls was officially conceived!

RoseBerry Coconut NanaBowl was their very first smoothie bowl, and three years later is the world-famed best seller.  RoseBerry packs a punch with high fibre fruits, healthy fats, and plant-based protein.  Overflowing with nature’s vibrant colours and served like soft-serve ice-cream in their branded eco-friendly wooden bowls, it was an immediate Instagram hit.  They have gone on to launch 8 different flavours, all focused on being low sugar, high protein, and dairy-free.

Their nighttime musings “we need to revolutionise the standard smoothie bowl and create a new smoothie bowl… the world’s most delicious and nutritious smoothie bowl, ever - how cool would that be!?” became their mission statement which still rings true today.  Yes, it is pretty cool.

NanaBowls has since been featured in BBC Good Food, Men's and Women's Health Magazines and was awarded the coveted Thai Business Excellence Awards Health Food Brand of the Year in 2018.  The following year, the founders won Young Entrepreneurs of The Year in 2019 at the same awards.

Phil and Jess both studied in the UK: Phil has a masters degree in architectural engineering from the University of Bath and has consulted on multimillion-dollar projects including the 2012 Olympic Stadium in London; Jess gained a bachelors degree in sociology at the University of Nottingham and has careered in the health industry for Deliciously Ella.

Today there are many NanaBowls partner stockists throughout Thailand’s second-largest island of Phuket, and they are expanding at a rate of knots. From Wilsons Cafe in Naiharn to Coffee Tribe in Rawai, Unni's in Kata, Mama's Cafe in Chalong, and even the world-famous hotel brands Novotel in Kamala and Movenpick in Karon. NanaBowls are popping up all over Phuket, and will soon be launching in Roost Glamping in Rawai and Kata Rocks and The Sundeck in Kata.  But they’re not limiting their vision to Phuket.  They’ve been in London at the cool-vibed Mortimer House yoga studio and kitchen together with none other than Sarah Malcolm.  You know the one – the smiley, charming and super-flexible human being that teaches yoga around the world.  And have even popped up at the world-renowned Harvey Nichols in Dubai.

Earlier this year, NanaBowls hit their most significant milestone to date and headed down under to Australia where they’re now officially stocked in Melbourne, at TreeHouse Lounge. This international brand has set its sites far, with plans to launch in five more cafes across Melbourne by the end of the year.

The future is bright at NanaBowls, now with a global team of 50 ambassadors called “NanaBowlers” who represent the brand.   Phil and Jess, the young entrepreneurial duo seek to launch NanaBowls in more health retreats and luxury resorts, grow their presence in Australia and begin in Dubai too.  Bali is another dream location, and it is their goal to start in CrossFit Wanderlust in Canggu and The Yoga Barn in Ubud.  NanaBowls will also be launching their online store so that fans from around the world can get their hands on their range of eco-friendly, sustainable and all-natural goodies!
