Webinar overview

What it is: a free online briefing on the launch of The Astra Samui, hosted by Asa Marsh, Managing Director of Easy Living Phuket, which was named Best Boutique Agency Thailand 2026. He is joined by three specialists covering the project, foreign freehold, the investment visa and how to secure a unit on launch day.

When: Monday 26 October 2026 at 6pm Thailand time.

How long: about one hour.

Format: live on Zoom, with presentations followed by a live Q&A. Anyone who wants to go further can book a private call with the team afterwards. Launch prices are revealed during the session, and a recording including the prices is available for those who cannot join live.

Who it is for: residential buyers, investment buyers and brokerages interested in owning property on Koh Samui, particularly foreigners who want a condominium in their own name or are looking at the investment visa.

Why this launch matters for foreign buyers

For years, foreigners searching for a home on Samui have found plenty of villas and very few condominiums they could own outright. Much of the island’s stock has been sold on leasehold terms. We looked at that shortage in Koh Samui condos for sale: the freehold gap is finally closing, and at why Bophut is where new supply is appearing in Foreign freehold condos on Koh Samui: why Bophut leads the island’s new supply.

At The Astra Samui, a foreign buyer can hold the title to a unit in their own name, rather than relying on a lease.

Why The Astra Samui

  • Koh Samui’s first luxury foreign freehold condominium.
  • Just over 30 foreign freehold quota units available in phase 1, from studios of about 26 sqm to two bedrooms of about 73 sqm, some with pool access.
  • Eligible for Thailand’s one year investment visa: buying over 3 million baht can make you eligible, and prices start from 3.42 million baht.
  • A short walk to Bophut Beach and to Fisherman’s Village, with its restaurants, cafes and Friday walking street, among five star resorts.
  • The flagship Koh Samui project of one of Thailand’s top 10 publicly listed developers.
  • Fully furnished.
  • A 70m lagoon pool, a gym and a sauna.
  • Rental management for owners who want to let their unit when they are away.
  • Launch prices revealed during the webinar.

The investment visa route

The part of this launch drawing the most interest is the visa. Buying property worth over 3 million baht can make a buyer eligible for Thailand’s investment visa. The route is currently active everywhere except Bangkok, where it is paused, so a Samui purchase is not affected by that pause. With prices starting from 3.42 million baht, every unit sits above the threshold.

The webinar will explain what the visa is, how the stay works and who may qualify. Eligibility depends on individual circumstances and official confirmation, so attendees are encouraged to raise their own situation in the live Q&A. For background, Asa Marsh has written about the 3 million baht property visa returning outside Bangkok.

Why Koh Samui

Samui keeps its Thai village pace and low rise coastline while offering the schools, hospitals and flights that long stay residents look for. Travel + Leisure readers voted it the World’s Best Island 2026, ahead of the Maldives and Bali. The island has seven international schools, five private hospitals including Bangkok Hospital Samui, and an airport that Bangkok Airways plans to expand to handle 6 million passengers a year by 2030.
